Difference in NFS and OST
Hi All ,
I need your suggestion what is the difference and best way to configure DD in NBU , as my media server is UNIX server so which option is best OST plugin or NFS share as per my understandings in both DD will perform the duplication task ,than why EMC DD is having two different option for connecting the NBU

OST gives some advanced options with integration - I believe Symantec and DD documentation provide more than enough information on this subject. See https://japan.emc.com/collateral/software/white-papers/h7296-data-domain-boost-openstorage-wp.pdf for start (first link in Google search).

OST allows NBU or Backup Exec to control the storage - in this case, Data Domain. The DD Boost plug-in provides the required OST API functionality plus some extras such as load balancing the NICs or Fibre Channel support for the DD unit.
You can use NFS for NBU to use as advanced disk but without OST features such as SLP managed duplication (physical and replicated copies which are managed in the NBU catalog).
