Anyone automating addition of objects to monitor? (i.e. via API)

Lately, we've been adding lots of SQL Servers to DPA for monitoring of backups and every one that I add is very similar. As in, *tons* of repeated steps that will be repeated probably at least once or twice a week for the foreseeable future.

This gets me wondering - there must be an easier way! So, are there any automated ways of adding servers to DPA for monitoring that anyone is using?  Yes, I'm mainly concerned about SQL Servers, but I'm sure that it's pretty much a general process, minus changing a few things specific to the object being monitored.

In reviewing the REST API docs, it seems like it could be feasible, but the sequence of getting things right kind of eludes me, so any ideas would be appreciated.
