How do you "refresh" the data in the configuration screen

We use DPA to monitor our backup environment. When I add new backup groups into Networker they wont appear in DPA to report against.  Is there a way I can force a "refresh" if you will, to find changes you have made in Networker?

Thank you in advance.....

Hi Jim,

The data in the navigation tree is created and updated when the Configuration request runs. By default this runs every 12 hours however you can force it to run from the UI by right clicking on the "NetWorker" sub-node under the NetWorker server in question, select Properties, Assignations, select the NetWorker Configuration request, and select to Run.

Good afternoon, David,

I followed the instructions above in a DPA 5.8.4 environment and received a Run Request message "Running requests for node Networker: Networker Configuration: Failed: Collector doesn't know about this request". What should I have done before running the Networker Configuration update? I can see groups created just this morning in the Networker console, but not in the DPA navigation tree.

I should note that the four nodes (clients) are not new and were previously in a single group. Now each is in its own "group". As a stopgap I'll add the individual clients to all the reports that contained the original four-client group, but as everyone is accustomed to checking Networker groups I'd like to continue this convention.

Others in my group administer Networker and Avamar, and I create DPA reports.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Sheryl,

Is the data being gathered normally by the collector? If you look at the NetWorker server in the DPA tree, do you see child nodes with its clients and groups etc?

Thanks

Hi Sheryl,

I would recommend raising an SR with EMC Support so that someone can investigate this for you, as I can't see anything obvious.

Thanks

Yes, David,

I see all of the Networker clients that are being backed up, both the groups and individually listed clients. The new groups are not visible in the tree; the old one is.

I checked a table report generated this morning that includes all backup activity, and the Networker group that was deleted yesterday with the clients that it contained is on the report. The data of the backups is current, if that's what is meant by being gathered normally.

The backups in question consist of Microsoft Exchange databases.
