T5500, Windows 11 demands UEFI Secure Boot, #2

Question

I know this thread is 8 months old, but I just used Rufus version 3.18 to download a version of Windows 11, strip it of pre-reqs, and install it on both a Dell Precision T3500 and T5500. The T5500 was shipped April 23, 2010 and I originally ordered it for our Drafting/3D Design Department. It has two CPUs with the 2nd CPU Riser, and 36GB or RAM. I'm the IT Manager and have been using it as my computer for well over a year on Windows 10 without issue. Just did the upgrade to Windows 11 and so far the only issue I've come up with is the removal of Internet Explorer, which we used for some of our security cameras/VMware Virtual Machine portals etc. Beyond that, it has been running flawlessly.

Thought I'd offer an update in case anyone stumbles across this old thread...

I can tell you, as an IT manager of an engineering and manufacturing company that ONLY uses DELL, as a test of concept, I used Rufus as a work-around that stripped the pre-install requirements tests, and installed Windows 11 without incident, and have been running Windows 11 on one of our T5500s that used to be what our drafters used. It has dual processors, and 36GB of memory, and this thing runs 11 like a CHAMP! I use it day in/day out, and never EVER have had a single problem. I have it running on more than 1 T5500 now, as well as a T3500 that I've owned for 8 years personally, and it runs 11 without problem as well.

I believe, personally, that these "requirements" are ways to "FORCE" people to buy new hardware, that have been put off for many years when SSDs came along and breathed new life into older machines, by making them so much faster and useful that people no longer need to upgrade every few years.

I have been using this T5500 as my DAILY in office tower for many years, (I've been here for 17 years) and I was the first person to use Windows 11, daily, in the company, as I am always the one to test new OS first. I was the first to run Windows 10 on my home computers for a LONG time before I started upgrading our machines from Windows 7. Think about it, this T5500 came out in XP era, with a ship date of 04/23/2010! If it can run 11, as a 13 year old computer, with plenty of horsepower, what does that mean to the companies selling hardware? Microsoft HAD to do this to help sell computers.

I'm running it on a Dell Latitude E7270 that is my personal laptop, as part of the Windows Insider Program, and it runs it flawlessly. In fact I just did a fresh install on it, when I upgraded to a Samsung PRO nvme SSD, and Windows 11 is humming along like it was made for this computer. I'm even using it on a Dell Latitude E6330 built in 2013, that is my "test" laptop that I use around the office when I need to grab a portable computer to do something away from desk!

All of this is to say that it can easily run on older computers. We're just being told it can't.

Thanks to @NYHusker and this 'old' thread. I successfully updated to windows 11 on my T7400. What's old is new again!
