Catalog update from Dell - What is the interval?
Hi,
was wondering if someone could share some details regarding the Dell Online repository and the update interval of the catalog.gz file.
In our environment we have a few repos, one of which is utilising dell online and is being sourced from downloads.dell.com/catalog/catalog.gz.
As an example - If we try and perform an idrac firmware version check on a PE R650 Open Manage will say the latest available is 6.10.80.00 (released in May), this is inline with what we can see when we manually download the .xml and check.
however when you search the dell site using the systems serial number version 7.00.00.00 is available, released in June.
How often is that catalog file updated? or is there a reconfiguration somewhere? It is hard to use Open Manage as a way to say firmware is up to date when then catalog fromm Dell is 2 months old.

@DELL-Young E What do you mean? Is there some sort of cycle that we can kind of use to guess when latest firmware will be available?

@StevenK_AU Hello, officially our Enterprise catalog is updated every fortnight (15 days once)

@DELL-Young E Thanks for that. Would there be a reason the catalog is missing firmware from 3 months ago then?
