CGRP9010 - Unable to create or modify group because the provided name already exists.

Hi Team

When I try to rename a group in OME show this message "CGRP9010 - Unable to create or modify group because the provided name already exists." looks like already exists but it's not true. I tried in other browsers with same results.

Anything to check?

Thank you

Hi,

here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and address this issue:

  1. Verify Group Name Existence: Double-check to ensure that the group name you're attempting to use doesn't actually exist. Navigate through the OME interface to view the list of existing groups and confirm there's no group with the name you're trying to use.

  2. Check for Special Characters or Spaces: Make sure the group name doesn't contain any special characters, spaces, or other characters that might cause issues. Stick to alphanumeric characters and underscores if possible.

  3. Refresh the Interface: Sometimes, the user interface may not reflect recent changes immediately. Try refreshing the page to ensure the interface is up to date and that there are no caching issues causing the problem.

  4. Clear Browser Cache: Clear the cache and cookies of your browser to ensure there are no stored data causing conflicts. Restart the browser and try again.

  5. Use a Different Browser: Attempt to perform the action using a different web browser. Sometimes, browser-specific issues can cause problems with certain operations.

  6. Restart OME Server: If possible, restart the OME server to ensure that any potential backend issues causing the problem are resolved.

  7. Check for Database Issues: If you have access to the backend or database, check if there are any discrepancies or issues related to group names in the database.

  8. Contact Dell Software Support: If the issue persists after attempting the above steps, consider reaching out to Dell's software support by phone for further assistance. They might have specific troubleshooting steps or a solution for this particular error.

Ensure you have appropriate access rights and permissions to modify or create groups in OME. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, involving Dell's support team would be the most prudent course of action.
