Discover range 10.000 IPs or use API?

Hey,

i am running the OM Enterprise Appliance Version 3.0.0 (Build 990)

I want to discover two ranges like 10.0.0.0/16. So from 10.0.0.1 to 10.0.255.255.

OM Enterprise does not allow me to do this, as this is more than 10.000 IPs.
At all there are less than 1000 hosts in this range. (lets please do not discuss the sense of this :smileyhappy:)

a) How can I discover this range?

Adding several small ranges ist just nothing I want to do with this size

b) Can I add hosts via REST API or similar?

I checked the API but did not see the option to add hosts via API.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. The current implementation of OpenManage Enterprise needs the IP ranges to be distributed into smaller ranges of 10,000 IPs even though lesser number of devices are actually present in the range. It is because irrespective of how many number of devices are present, the appliance needs to scan through all the IPs. And when you provide there won't be enough thread available. So, at this point in time, the only feasible solution is to break the IP range into smaller ranges.
