Discovery devices with different root passwords

Hi, we have a question about Dell OpenManage Enterprise, specifically the server Discovery

We have around 150 PowerEdge servers that we had connected to OME through the iDRACs. In the past, we had the root password the same across most or all the devices.

But now, for added security, we're moving towards having individually unique root passwords for each iDRAC

Is it possible to create a discovery job where we can feed individually unique credentials automatically? I know we can import a .csv file for IP address ranges, but that doesn't work for importing usernames and passwords.

We found this thread from 2018 asking the same question, but no workaround was available. So has OME changed (since 2018) to allow discovery of multiple systems with unique passwords and if so how do we get this to work?

Hi, thanks for choosing Dell. I can't be of much help this time: best if it is shared by someone who has actually experienced the same. However also, please note that we are moving to SCG. https://dell.to/3PpDXzt

Hi Young,

I'm a bit confused by the last part of your answer. What does the move from SupportAssist Enterprise to Secure Connect Gateway have to do with implementing OME on a large scale with different passwords?

Dadac5458,

Sorry for the misunderstanding, as far as OpenManage, you can just make a discovery for each password, but if the passwords need to changed regularly I would suggest you use Onboarding to change them in OME instead of editing the Discovery Range. You can make a discovery that includes multiple devices, but that might make it hard to diagnose things if there are issues.

Let me know if this helps.
