Duplicate Group
Hey all, Having trouble with a new instance of OME. Im trying to create Query Groups. Each time I try and make a new one I get the error. Device group action failed.
CGRP9010 - Unable to create or modify group because the provided name already exists
Im not sure where else the group could exists as this is a new instance. Any ideas?

Hello
A duplicate group shouldn't be a problem. It should modify the existing group. It sounds like a permission issue, it is not letting you modify the existing group. I just tested creating two queries.

Thanks

Just tried to rename a group as well as create a new one. None of the activities show up in the audit log.
Im currently logged in as admin for troubleshooting.
This happens if I rename a query group or create a new one. My query options are
( Device Sub-Type = iDRac ) AND ( Device Name begins with dc1 )

I was able to create a query without issue using those options.
I was able to rename existing query groups without issue.
I found out how I was able to reproduce the group 9010 error that you are receiving, and I am able to reproduce it again. I had used the group name Test40 again by accident. Make sure the group name you are trying to use is not already being used somewhere. Try using a different group name.

I tested several more times. I was able to get a query to error with the 9010 group write error once. It did not log the failed creation in the audit log. I can't remember the options I selected to produce the error, and I have been unable to get it to happen again. If you can reproduce the error then please list the options you are selecting.

A different group name appears to work. However after the group is deleted I should be able to re use that name again. However even after deleted it still thinks it exists.

I was able to reproduce this. OMEnt is not refreshing the browser with some changes. I was able to correct this issue by doing a browser refresh(F5). Groups are not appearing/disappearing or updating changes in the browser properly. OMEnt 3.2 just started the release process. If these browser issues persist in 3.2 I'll look into it again.
Thanks

I completed the upgrade to 3.2 the issue still persists. I have also worked with a colleague. The issue occurs across multiple browsers and machines.

I have found no issues in my testing. Group names consist of more than just the query group. If you are trying to use a group name that is a duplicate of any existing group names it will generate the error.

Where can I see all the existing groups?

On the same page that you are creating the query groups. There should be an expand all option at All Devices under system groups. Everything in that left SYSTEM GROUPS pane counts as a group name. I think that is all of the group names, but I'm not absolutely certain.
The category and all sub-category names count as group names(e.g., Modular Systems, PowerEdge FX2, Chassis_xxxxx).

The group name is not listed in any of those drop downs.
