Migration to V4

Hello,

I've started the migration but it seems to be stuck on 50%, I keep seeing a message on the source saying "There are 1 job(s) still in running state"

The only job running on that page is OME Export Task and has been running for 35 minutes, I can't stop the job either, we do not have many things in OME so wouldn't expect it to take this long

At the top I see a red banner saying "Appliance is in MAINTENANCE_PENDING state"

When looking at the new appliance I cannot put in the encryption key, because I believe this job needs to be stop.

We have no other jobs running other than me trying to do the migration.

It's probably easier for me to set it up from scratch but wondering why this isn't working and if there's anything I can do

Okay, so it failed after an hour, I then re-ran the job using "Terminate jobs" even though none were running, it's not moved on and doing the import, will see in the morning if it's worked

I don't see migration instructions anywhere. Do you just install the new VM and then migrate from within V4.0? Is this version any better than the last? Hope so.

First make sure you are on v.3.10.x, and then use Migrate an appliance to move to 4.0 -

Relevant sections:

Updating the console and plugins page 205

Hello,

I had so many other issues with things like Invalid User ID, but no explantion as to what. 

So in the end I just deployed a new instance and setup from scratch.

I believe the migration step really needs to look at all steps before migrating as it's not quite working, but thankfully I only have a small deployment of less than 100 servers so was easy enough to start from scratch

Check if there are jobs in running state.
Jobs were found in running state. Waiting for it's completion.
There are 1 job(s) still in running state.

After I restarted OME and run migrate out again, it works, but I found error in importing backup to OME v4, while decrypting backup, another thread here....

Yes so many issues with upgrade to new version, it is not production ready yet...

Can you provide more information about the errors? And did you check the logs, any other information that it can be useful to resolve the issue?

After researching the issue, I would suggest you call in to the OpenManage group, as they have expressed that the issue will likely take directly working with them to resolve.
