OME 3.10.2 - Cannot find Backup/Restore menu item

Dear all,

I just discovered the existence of OpenManage Enterprise 4.0.
Reading the migration process from 3.10 I found out that in the OME 3.10 interface I should find a "Backup/Restore" menu item, but I can't find it in my OME 3.10 installation:

Why I don't have the backup/restore menu item? Should I disable some of the plugins I use? I have Services, CloudIQ and Power Manager enabled at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

Lorenzo

Hello Lorenzo,

have tried to logon with the OME internal admin user?
Also try to logon with the Firefox browser, it sometimes shows more in OME.

from the OME 3.1 User's Guide:

"Ensure you are logged in as the default local administrator account . This is the only account that contains the a (backup administrator) role,.."

Hello, Now, I was going to suggest you log in as administration, as Muese suggested. You can check page 189 here OpenManage Enterprise 3.10 User's Guide (https://dell.to/3RD6UMK)

Backup an appliance
Use backup jobs to store appliance data like resource allocation, CPU, memory, system configuration and plugins.
Prerequisites
● Ensure you are logged in as the default local administrator account . This is the only account that contains the a (backup
administrator) role, as described in User roles.
● Ensure there is enough storage space on the target appliance.
● Ensure all installed plugins are enabled.
● Ensure FSD is disabled.
● Ensure the Backup / Restore Settings are configured, as described in Manage console settings.
● Terminate currently running jobs or wait for all running jobs to complete.

I'm so sorry I didn't find this information myself.

So this was the problem: I usually log on with my own AD LDAP user with full admin privileges so I didn't think that the local admin could have more functions/privileges.

Thanks for the effective and quick reply.
