open-vm-tools
Running the vSphere Appliance and noticed that open-vm-tools isn't installed in the 3.3 version. Seems short-sighted to strangle performance in such a way. Please release an update with the tools and possibly default to the pvSCSI and VMXNET3 so that we can get decent performance without taxing the vCPUs.

Hi,
Thanks for the heads up. I'll need to get a case up to the engineering on your feedback. Just for my information, are you able to manually install the vm tools?

I am looking for more information on the process to update (if possible) VM Tools on the Version 3.5.0 (Build 60) OpenManage Enterprise appliance.
The version of VM Tools that comes bundled with this OVA/OVF has a memory leak per VMware.
Does Dell have a supported process to update VM Tools? I don't seem to be able to get to a shell to run through the typical process to update open-vm-tools.
Thank you for any assistance,
Tina

Tinakane,
Currently there isn't a way, but I can deliver feedback and it may be included in a future release.
Let me know if this helps.
