SCG virtual edittion device adding issue

We could not perform the operation for this device because either it has invalid certificate or device
hostname does not matches with the common name of the device certificate. Ensure that your device
certificate is valid and device hostname matches with the common name of the device certificate if CN
check is enabled. If the problem persists, you can contact Dell technical support.

DJ_EMC,

Would you clarify some things for me, as we need more details in order to understand the issue?

What version of SCG virtual are you using?

What is the device/device type that you are trying to add?

What process are you trying to perform when you see the error?

Is the certificate expired?

I ask as anything around 12th generation or older, the certificate is likely to be expired, and you would need to run the command to reset the certificate.

Let me know.

Hi DJ,

The most comon problem related with this issue is when you create the credential for iDRAC and the check box "Enable Common Name (CN) check" is enable.

This allow to SCG validate if the Common Name (CN) that is into the SSL certificate matches with the Host name, if not this error is deplayed.

Uncheck this box, try again and see what happens.

Hope this help you.

Alex
