One additional comment. If you have access to the MIB, you might be able to import it into OME 1.0.1 using the MIB import tool. This would allow you at least to get any SNMP alerts from the UPS.
I was thinking of using the MIB import utility but we already have the alerts coming from the management card anyway. Ill think Ill wait for the new release for UPS support.
I have tried OME 1.1 and we have 4 Dell UPS systems (3U 2700W) with management card. Only 2 are shown in OME as UPS, the other 2 are unknown. As far as I can tell the ones with management card revision 05 are shown unknown, the ones with revision 00, are shown as UPS. Below the details of the one with rev05
Card Firmware revision : 01.14.0003
Card Part Number : H910P
Card Revision : A05
Card Serial Number : CN-0H910P-75161-22F-0124
Card Ethernet Mac Address : D0:67:E5:FF:68:C3
Card Ethernet Speed : 100 MBit
and one wiht rev00
Card Firmware revision : 01.14.0003
Card Part Number : H910P
Card Revision : A00
Card Serial Number : CN-0H910P-75161-01U-0061
Card Ethernet Mac Address : 00:22:19:FF:AB:9D
Card Ethernet Speed : 100 MBit
Anyone an idea why rev05 doesn't work? All have snmp enabled in public
...and just to sanity check, can you run the Dell TS tool (on the OME desktop) and confirm that the SNMP test behaves as expected? (compare working and non-working).
Once you do this, I'll see if I can get someone to try the diff f/w versions. I may need you to open a ticket so we can ensure proper tracking.
The tool helped to find the problem, the 2 failing UPS devices seem to have not been reset for communication. After doing that, SNMP worked in the tool and OME could find the UPS devices, thanks
Would be nice when OME could also show whether the UPS and UPS network card have an up to date firmware revision. The separate Dell UPS management tools can do that

Thanks for the post. Just wanted to check which version of OME are you using?
If its OME1.0.1, the UPS discovery is not supported in this version.

Yeah its OME 1.0.1. Is this the latest? If so, will future releases have support for the UPS units? If not, where can I get the latest update?

Thanks for the update.
Our future release of OME (i.e., OME1.1) will have support for UPS discovery.
Thanks,
Kavitha

Yep.

That could provide partial support until OME 1.1.
