I have identified that its a tape library that is connecting via the SNMP agent, however where on such a device do I remove the authentication feature so it doesn't authenticate?
Just checking if someone managed to resolve this issue. We have the same tape library model and get the same problem. We are using the latest OME v1.3 and the latest library firmware C.30 A20.
Our SNMP settings in the tape library is set to use SNMP v2. However, there's an SNMP v3 Security section which has the default Username=initial, Authentication=None. Is there a way to disable SNMP v3 in the library?
I'm not familiar with that tape library. Is it being discovered and inventoried correctly?
Sometimes folks will enter the wrong SNMP community string (or wrong 'case' of the string upper/lower). Not sure if this would cause it from tape library. Have you tried right-clicking on the alert in OME and ignoring it? (assuming that's what you want to do :) )
Yes, OME can discover and inventory the device. However, we configured OME to email us whenever there's an alert and it sends this around 4 times a day. If we ignore it in OME, will that ignore a true and valid alert when it comes?
If you create an ignore alert filter for a specific alert then that alert is ignored till the time you disable the filter. No other alert will be ignored and only this specific alert will get ignored. You can right click on the alert and choose from the options "Ignore on this device only", "Ignore on all the devices" "Ignore all alerts from this device".

Hi,
This is probably the SNMP authentication setting in Windows services.
Check Services -> SNMP Serices -> Security
Clear checkbox at Send authentication trap.

Please make sure you have the latest firmware.

Furthermore check if SNMP v3 is disabled, this is not supported by OME.
