Hi and thanks for the post.

Can you confirm you added the required  MIB to the repository before parsing (per the whitepaper instructions)?

It looks like CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB has the traps, it is dependent upon ALTEON-ROOT-MIB, ALTEON-CHEETAH-NETWORK-MIB and ALTEON-CHEETAH-LAYER4-MIB.  So the dependent MIBs have to be put into the repository.

Thanks much,

Rob

Thanks for taking your time to look at this issue. I really appreciate your input to this problem and others in the past. The responses  have been a great help.

I am pretty sure I have followed the rules that are mentioned in the white paper. The other MIB dependencies have been loaded successfully. The CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB is loaded with out errors but the utility just doesn't parse any of the traps.

Hi,

Thanks for the sharing the snapshot. You have added the required MIBs in the repository. As you would be interested in the trap definitions of "CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB" and want to parse this specific MIB, you do not require it to add to the "MIB Repository".

You can select this CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB in the "Import MIB" tab and parse. Please see if it works for you.

Thanks.

I can parse the CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB as you suggest but no traps are found.

Ok, that's surprising.  When the dev team tested it, they added the required mibs to the repository, then were able to parse the CHEETAH mib and found 22 traps defined.

What exact mibs did you add to the repo before you tried to parse CHEETAH?

I have been removing ansd readding MIBS. I get the same result , no traps in the CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB.

The process I went through was add the MIB folder path to the separate folder holding

ALTEON-CHEETAH-LAYER4-MIB

ALTEON-CHEETAH-NETWORK-MIB

ALTEON-ROOT-MIB

CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB

These turn up in the MIB Repository

When I try and go to the Import MIB frame and parse the CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB it finds no traps

I must be doing something wrong ?

I hads another crack at loading the MIBS for the alteon. The comms team member I was working with sent me a zip file with 21 mib files included in it. So I added all 21 MIBs (not just the 4 mentioned above, that CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB said it depended on) . After doing that the CHEETAH-TRAP-MIB was able to be parsed and the traps appeared.

No Events found!
