Multiple iDRAC credentials on same discovery range

Hi,

We've got multiple sets of iDRAC credentials on servers, is there a way to have the same IP discovery range in OME 1.1 with different WSMan credentials for iDRACS?

If not, what is the best way to standardise on a single set of credentials without disrupting what is already in place?  Would it be to run some sort of script against all our iDRAC instances to create a lower privilege system account and if so, has anyone else already done this and can point me in the direction as to the best way to script it?

Hi,

OME 1.1 does not support multiple credentials over a subnet discovery range. There are multiple things you can try:

  • If you are using different ranges for different passwords then you can subdivide the discovery and inventory process into multiple processes based on the password. That might turn out to be little difficult
  • You can find some information about changing the password on the idrac at <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> and http://www.idimmu.net/2010/10/19/changing-a-drac-password-on-the-command-line-with-racadm/. You can use OME remote task feature to run the script to change password on the targets . Note: Generic CL task runs on the OME machine itself. After that you can discover the subnet using same credentials.
  • All the idrac user privileges (administrator/operator/user) will work for discovery of idrac using WSMAN.

I think we are working on multiple credentials support for discovery in future releases.

Thanks
