I know I can change it when doing discovery but my real need is to have the default SNMP community string be set for what I use and not always come up "Public".
I have about 250 devices (over 10 difference ranges) that I will be discovering over the next several weeks. Would be nice to have a config file or registry entry that I could manipulate to change the default from Public to the one I use.

Hi there,
Yes, you can do this. On the SNMP page for the discovery wizard you can enter a new community string.
Also, in the Dell TS tool (on the OME desktop), you can modify the comm string there for testing as well.
Hope this helps,
Rob

Ah, ok, I see your question now.
No, there is not a way to do this. Is this something you think you will use a lot? How many discovery ranges do you think you will enter?
If you think it would be useful, I can pass the feature request along to our marketing team.
Thanks for posting,
Rob

Hi Rob,
please tell your marketing team that someone else would like to use a feature like this.
Kind regards,

Can you use a discovery group?
That's one setting.
Then just add additional ranges within the group with no need to modify the community string for each new as they are set one time for the group.
I use this for about the same amount of devices and ranges as you and it works well.
