Openmanage Essentials doesn't get past the loading screen

I have a SBS2011 server I installed Openmanage Essential on. When I launch it, it just stays at the screen with the Openmanage Essential logo on it. It first asked for a username which I put in my domain name (which is a domain admin). Thanks. Gary

Hi Gary,

Can you check on your OME server if there are OME groups created? When you launch OME, then OMEAdministrators, OMEPowerUsers and OMEUsers should get created. You can check this under Server Manager >> Configuration >> Groups.

Also, please check if your domain user is added to one of these groups or not. This should give us a start.

Would the groups be part of the AD? If you're asking me to look into the Server Manager >> Configuration >> Groups within OME I can't. When I start it, I only get the OME logo displayed as it's starting up and that's it. No menu, login screen etc.

Ok. Couple of more questions:

  • Which version of OME is it? I am assuming it is OME 1.2
  • Is it a fresh install of OME 1.2 or is it an upgrade from an older version?
  • Since it is domain set up, did you install OME also using a domain administrator?
  • Where does you SQL sit? Is it local or on a remote machine?

Hi,

To add to this, since you have mentioned that it is an SBS, so it should be a domain controller.

I would like you to check under Active directory for the OME groups that i have mentioned. If the groups are present, then you should check if the account through which you are trying to login to OME is present in any of the OME groups or not.

If both are not there, it is time to open a trouble ticket at 800-945-3355,  so that they can help you with the fixes on your system.
