Hi Rob, Thanks for the response. Would you have a link to an article showing how to set up an email forward rule? I basically cloned our email alert and input my 10digitphonenumber@txt.att.net

But if you have a better way, I'm all for it.

Hi Mike, thanks for the post.

The way we support that is to create an email forward rule in the Alert console and use something like this:

SMS / Text - 10digitphonenumber@txt.att.net

Other providers have similar.

Yep.

There is a 'custom alerts' video on www.delltechcenter.com/ome.  That may help.

You can also right click and create a new email action.

Yeah, those videos have "hotspots", you have to hover over the plus sign I think.  Most new-ish browsers work ok with this.  Let me know.

Hi All,

 i was unable to configure a sms text alert message using open manage essential or iDRC. please advice me how to configure it?

For sms you need to send an email to your telcom sms gateway which converts the email to sms and sends it to your phone so as far as DRAC is concerned you are just sending an email.

Here is a global list of providers gateway syntax:

martinfitzpatrick.name/.../
