Problem with OpenManage Essentials not identifying iDRAC
Have an issue with R620 servers running MS Windows 2012 DataCenter. When using discovery in OpenManage Essentials these server show the Dell Remote Access Controller Agent Version 1.40 instead of Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 1.40.40. This means that from within OpenManage Essentials I cannot use the link to access the DRAC but have to access by going to the browser on the OpenManage Server.
Want to understand why the two servers are showing up differently in OpenManage Essentials and what I can do to get these server to show up the same.

Hi ,
Thanks for the post.
Few questions. Which protocol are you using for discovery? Are you using the SNMP to discover the server IP address or are you using WS-MAN to discover iDrac IP address?

Thanks for the update.
You are saying you are using WS-MAN to discover only the iDracs for these servers. You are not discovering the server in band and the link to launch iDrac console in OME is not launching the iDrac console. When you use the iDrac URL directly from the browser on the same machine, you are able to launch the iDrac console. Is this correct summary?
Regarding the iDrac f/w version, are you looking at software inventory information table or Firmware Information table? Do you see the same version in both tables?
Regards
Abhijit

I am using WS-MAN to discover the iDRAC IP Address. The iDRAC are on a separate physical network from the server NIC

Yes I am only discovering the iDRAC and I am not discovering the servers in-band and the link is not launching the iDRAC console.
If I use the iDRAC URL from the same server the iDRAC console launches fine.
In OME for the servers that work I see
In OME for the Server that do not work I see
However when I check both iDRAC are running 1.40.40 firmware

Thanks for the updates.
Is it possible for you to run Troubleshooting tool, select WS-MAN as the test and point to the IP address of working iDrac and non working iDrac? The results will show the data which is available from both. If there are differences in the results, most likely that is causing this issue.

Ran the troubleshooting tool and figured out the issue was that even though things were showing selected in the iDRAC console (WSMAN, SNMP, IPMI) they were not showing up in the tool until I went into the iDRAC console and deselected then reselected them. It seems that the services needed to be bounced. Thanks for the help Abhijit
