Reports with errors

Question

Hi,

I am wondering if is any way to generate reports, which can be send by email, with hardware errors on inventoried machines? I know that available is to generate report (HTML version) with inventory of the machines but I would like to receive emails (daily) with reports which machine reported any problem in last 24 hrs or more.

I am using OME 2.0.

Hi Pupul,

I have it configured - email notification. Maybe I will describe you what I would like to have.

In my team works 4 people. We all receives all email alerts using shared mailbox. We have more than 100 servers connected to OME. We had situation that some of the error (disk failure) was missed and nobody took care about it. So I would like to have a daily report from OME where I can find if error still exist on machine(s). If it is possible of course.

BTW. I ran Daily HTML report described in White Paper "How to build daily HTML systems report with OME-1" and it start and never ending. And html report is generated only for first IP address. Any reason why? Also when I left only one IP report is still running.

Hi Lukass,

OME supports alert email feature for alerts which are received in OME. In case of a hardware failure if the server generates an alert and you have pointed your server to send SNMP alerts to OME, then you can use alert email feature to receive alerts for the same. Although, OME does not support sending alerts for reports as of now. Reports are mostly consolidated data for what you have in the server. You will be able to export this data in a csv or html format. The following whitepaper can be of some help for you:

Hi Lukasz, I will send the request for new feature for consideration. As of now there is no way to directly get the email for the reports. Regarding the whitepaper, i need to research more.

Thanks Pupul - cannot wait, when this feature will be available. About daily HTML report - it works, but takes a lot of time to generate it. It can take even 2 days until finish. thanks Lukasz

Rob, I would have missed the other communications, does the newer version of OME has the features to get the report on daily basis on only for problem servers REgards N. Sathish
