Yes thats correct. SupportAssist creates a case for certain critical and warning SNMP alerts related to memory, processor, hard drive , Power Supply etc.
Ok, I have just enabled SNMP for a device to test as it had a failed disk and OME is logging an alert every 30 seconds. Is this by design or is dedupication of events not happing?
I think this is expected behavior, OMSA will probably send this trap out as long as the condition exists.
So in OME you can either right click on the alert in the alert console and ignore it for that device. But remember to delete the filter after you repair the drive.
Or you can create a custom ignore filter to ignore it for that device for, say, a week or so, until the new drive is installed.
Ok, yeah we ship a default 15 second ignore filter. You can create one specific to this server so you can ignore the HDD warning. Or you can just create your own 30 second ignore filter for all of your stuff...whichever you are comfortable with.

It will only do it on Trap and not based on OMSA status poll.

Hi Paul,
Can you give more details on the exact alert that is logging every 30 seconds? I just want to be sure of the text in the alert before I speculate.
thx

Just curious, are these factory or after-market disks?
