Perhaps I was not clear on my response. SUU is suggested method for updating OME server. For updating other servers which are monitored and managed by OME, you can definitely use the "System Update" feature in OME.
OME supports updates using catalog from Dell FTP website or catalog from SUU DVD or a catalog generated using Repository Manager. SUU allows you to update only one server at a time when you are running the utility on that server. OME gives you the functionality of updating multiple servers using OME. There are white papers and videos located on the OME Wiki page providing more information on the updates feature which will guide you through the process.
Thanks for the post. OME server is not supposed to update itself. OME server is used for monitoring and management of other servers and if you are sending updates and rebooting OME server, you will end up with disruptions in the monitoring/management operations.
You can use OME update feature to update managed servers. for updating OME server you can use SUU utility.
Okay, so the OME server cannot monitor and manage itself? Is it more preferred to use SUU to update other servers as well? I've used SUU in the past but i thought with the "server update" option, that maybe that would be the preferred method of updating drivers and such.
