Unable to install system updates to hyper-v server
Hi,
I'm using OM Essentials 1.2.1 and not having any luck installing system updates to 2008 r2 hyper-v core servers using OMSA or iDRAC. Do you have any ideas why this might be happening? I am able to successfully detect the devices without any issues but not install any updates.
Dell R620
Server Administrator 7.3.0
iDRAC7 1.51.51
Lifecycle Controller2 1.3.0.850
Task Execution History:
OMSA:
PackageCode 1
PackageFileName C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\s274\BIOS_T2RVC_WN32_2.1.3.EXE
PackageReleaseId Not Available
PackageState missing
TotalStatusMessage Software update complete.
iDRAC
Results:
Downloading Packages.
Package BIOS_T2RVC_WN32_2.1.3.EXE failed to download on target device. Update failed.
Software Update Task Failed.
Cheers

Have you tried resetting the iDrac? Also have you tried to clear the iDrac jobs?
I'd try those two then try running the update again.

Dell OME is still in the stone ages and does not support 64bit packages..
The unfriendly way around this issue is to manually enable ServerCore-WOW64 feature and restart before starting the installs and then disable ServerCore-WOW64 when its finished.
The reason I installed OpenManage to simplify driver & firmware updates.. How long until 64bit packages are supported?
