Can't update my chipset

Hello....

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 and i want to update my chipset driver but it wont work.

The chipset that's in my Dell is a Intel pentium 4 cpu 3.00 GHZ. (Intel 865 chipset family according to Intel Chipset Identification Utility).
When i look at the drivers from the dell.support site, there is only 1 driver there. Chip Set: Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility, Driver, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Multi Language, Multi System, v.5.00.1012, A13  Version 5.1.2600.0 when i look at the device manager because i am using this one at the moment but it's from 16/05/2003
When i look at the the website of Intel i find a newer driver.  Intel® 865G Chipset Version INF Update Utility [INFINST.EXE] (1518KB) 6.0.1.1002  5/7/2004

The problem is, when i run this driver it installs the new driver but when i afterworths look at the device manager nothing is changed. It is still version 5.1.2600.0

Do i need to deinstall the old driver first? If yes, how do i do this?
What i also do not understand is why there are 2 cpu's shown in the device manager. When i click at cpu he shows 2 times a Intel pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHZ?

Can anybody help me...?

Version 5.1.2600.0 is the  Windows XP version, not the chipset driver version

Oke....So running the driver is enough? It is on my system now?

Do you know why there are 2 CPU's shown in the device manager?

If the CPU is hyperthreading enabled, I believe it will show as 2 CPUs in device manager.
