COM port

I got a Dimention 8200 2.0 G

when I open the device manager and found there is only one COM port (COM1).
But normally we should see two com ports there (COM1 and COM2).

DO you know Why?

if you have nothing installed for that com, and haven't installed or uninstalled anything in the past week, i wouldn't worry about it unless it has affected your system performance.

Per the Tech Specs at http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/systems/dim8200/specs.htm#1101572, the 8200 only has one external Comm port.

The second com port normally comes with the installation of a modem. If you don't have a modem, the standard system only comes with a single com port.
