Dell computer stuck in power save mode.

My dell computer is stuck in power save mode. I turn on my monitor it goes on turns black and the light goes yellow. I've unplugged everything and tried it again its still doing the same thing. the mouse is unresponsive and so is the keyboard. How can i get it to work?

It is possible  that your video card has failed, rather then being in power save mode.

What happens when you power up the computer? Do you see the Dell splash screen? Do you see any front panel lights flickering

You should post your model computer and operating system for help with this. Check your diagnostic lights and post those too.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem.  Hope someone replies soon.  Could it be the video card has gone bad?  Thanks

I had the same problem I opened up my computer disconnected the wires cleaned it our where they go and replaced it. I did this one by one so i remembered where they plugged back in. I turned the computer on and off. did it about three times until I got the computer to work. I was told it could have been my video card failing when it just actually needed to be cleaned out.

try tapping the F12 key to enter the boot/options menu. If you see the menu select the diagnostics and run the tests. Alternately you can also try tapping the F8 key at the Dell splash screen and if the next screen comes up select the option to boot into Safe mode. See if it will boot up into safe mode.
