Both Dell motherboards and cases have proprietary features. You may have problems installing an Dell motherboard into a standard ATX case.
The rear I/O panel may not line up correctly, so you would have to modify that. The biggest item, is that both non Dell cases and motherboards, don't have the same front panel wiring connnections that Dell uses. The motherboard "stand offs" may be different and require to be relocated.
Dell uses a proprietary ribbon connector, whereas ATX standard motherboards/cases use Molex style connectors, you'll have to figure out how to rewire the front power button, reset, and USB ports, because Dell has not published the pinouts of this connector.
You will require a new CPU fan, heatsink and motherboard retention bracket, because Dell's are proprietary units.
Can a Dell motherboard be installed in a standard ATX case, yes, it can, but it will not be easy and be prepared for a lot of aggro.
Bev.
