Dell Vostro 200 Won't turn on
I have a Vostro 200, working fairly well, however I had to unplug it to move some furniture and when I plugged it back in the power button does nothing. There is power to the unit as the green light on the power supply is lit green, I tried unplugging again for a while and plugging back in but although the green light shows up, the power button does nothing, I have opened it and checked connectors, nothing is loose, and the motherboard shows an orange light so it is getting power...I am at a loss. Please Help
Note: I had this problem one time before but when I came back the next day and pushed the power button it turned right on with no repeat of the problem until now 5 months later

not sure what you mean by jump the green wire to one of the black? Where are these colored wires and how to jump them? My Dell Vostro 260 takes a dive every time there is a power outtage. When we loose power I can not get the computer to start backup. Even after unplugging it from wall and letting it sit.

All the wires of a power supply are colour coded, you need to check the wires of the 24-pin P1 main motherboard power connector.
Maybe the following video can help:

I'm having the same issue and I want to test the power supply but I'm not able to remove the 24 pin connector. It's being covered by a SATA unit. How do I remove this safely to get to the connector?
And then, which green and black wires am I jumping?

I had the same issue, whereby i was switching on my dell vostro 230 and all i got was an amber light on my power button, i switched it off disconnected all power cables from the optical drives, removed cmos and then held down the power button for 20 seconds, after which i returnedeverything in the appropriate orderand turned on my CPU... Everything worked fine thereafter.... Thanks a lot
