Dell/ATI RAGE 128 PRO & drivers

I'm not sure, if the graphic card I have is manufactured by Dell, but when I try to search by google, it look like it is from Dell (photo is here: http://www.1a8.webz.cz/VGA.JPG). The problem are drivers: I downloaded latest ATI drivers, but it wrote that they are not for my VGA card. Than I downloaded many other drivers from driverguide-some from ATI, some from Dell. Three or four from Dell could be (manualy) installed (it said that the driver was not written for my card), but when the system (Win98SE) started, the display was black and PC don't resumed OR the system normaly started, but in the device manager wrote "This device is not in the system or don't have all drivers."

What is the part number listed on that white label on the back of the card? I cannot read it but it will start with 102 if it was built by ATI. Anyway get the part number and go here and enter it and see if it was built by ATI.

If it is you can locate the driver needed.

The ATI Rage 128Pro I had in my old Dimension 4100 would not work with the drivers from ATI's website. I got an error about incompatible hardware. I had to use the Dell drivers from here.

To Bobman101: I've tried your drivers, it wrote that I dont' have card it is made for, after manual install and restart, conflict too...

Maybe the card is damaged...?

What system model and what OS are you using? Those drivers were the ones I used on my Dimension 4100 with Windows ME.

Win 98SE. I know that those drivers are only for ME, but ME is only "better 98SE"...and I need to try everything...

Yeah, the Windows98 Driver file for that points to the same file for the WindowsME one, so it should had worked. At this point, I wouldn't really know what to do, sorry. Those were the drivers I used on my Rage 128Pro (different part number than yours though) and it worked. Good luck.

Thank you for your help. I'm going to change the graphic back for S3 Trio 3D/2x and to write to the auction (where I want to sell the PC) that if somebody will want, I'll change it for this Rage 128 PRO with NO warranty. It can be good for Linux (maybe drivers for this system will run or to a console in some server ;-) )
