Dells 3 pin fan connectors ?

Apprently Dell uses its own design of 3 pin fan connectors in its systems ? I would never have noticed untill I purchased a fan controller to install in one of the available 3.5 inch bays at the dront of my case/tower ! I purchased the EasyWatch by Aerocool and it monitors your temps for the CPU, Graphics card and overall case temp . Those are little temp sensors that you attach with a tape supplied with the easywatch. However the fan connectors are standard 3 pin male connectors and I could not get them to fit the Dell female ends on their fans . It was pointed out to me at another web site on computing that Dell manufactures its own M.B. and does not use the standard 3 pin connector ? I was disappointed to find this out and since the fans I wanted to monitor are important and I could fry my CPU if I was to stop the fans from running ,Iam just going to have to live with a series of zero's being dispalyed on the lite up LCD dispaly giving me the RPM of the fans ,you can connect up to three fans to the easywatch ! Anyone that has knowledge of how the Dell wiring works on its fans I would be interested to find out ? Thank You ,

Thank you for you input and the information you supplied .I really had no intension on changing any fan speed with the controller, the main reason I wanted to have the ability to hook them up is so I can monitor the RPM's of whatever fans I could hook it up to .   Now my tower has a large intake fan at the front and right below that a exhaust fan ,I just can seem to locate  the power line for those fans , I really want to stay away from messing with the CPU fan ,so if I could hook up just the two fans at the front on my tower I would then get two reading on the easywatch ?  The two fans connected to the M.B. ,Iam sure the first one is the CPU fan the other fan connetion right below that Iam not sure which fan that supplies power to ?   As I stated for now Iam happy to just get the temps !  The EasyWatch still gives a nice look to the front panel with the blue and red color LCD lite up !  Thanks again for your input and if you have any other info ,I have open ears !

Dell uses extremely high quality PWM (pulse width modulation) fans, the speed is controlled by the motherboard.

There is no reason why you would want to NOT want to use the built-in fan controller.

Using a fan controller is just about the dumbest thing you can do.  Dell already uses the best fans tuned to properly cool your BTX chassis while generating the least amount of noise.
