It has to do with Norton Internet Security. Or at least one of the programs in it maybe Norton Antivirus. I have Norton Internet Security 2004 and I get it too when I restart. I think it's just showing because the computer is restarting kind of slow because we have too many process or stuff running when we try to start or shut down the computer.

That link seems like a lot of work for such a simple matter. Not saying it won't work I just always heard that if you don't have to mess with the registry then it's better not too. Unless for whatever reason it really bugs the user that the computer does this.

a lot of work? lol you call 3-4 steps a lot of work? LOL this is windows my friend.

if you want something to work properly everything can be done through regedit.

good luck finding a simple resolution which is not a lot of work.

or maybe you can keep clicking END NOW everytime it comes up..thats easy enough

I have never edited the registery before so for me yeah I would take it slow. Also I never said I had to hit end now. It only appears for a couple seconds the times it does appear. You want simple solution? I don't let the stupid thing bug me there's your simple solution.

Baowoulf..

Did you try the Symantec support link procedure?

And did you read the posts in the Dell forum link associated with the same issue you have?

I read it. But for me ccApp doesn't stop responding it just takes a sec or too to close when shutdown cause I have a few programs I need to change options on. That's why I said editing the registory seemed like a lot of work for something that I will fix most likely when I change the options in my excess programs I have on this comp atm.

My mistake. I neglected to note you weren't the original poster. However, I do agree, and am a firm believer in: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The volume of complaints on these boards of fouled up systems from people suffering from an overwhelming need to immediately reformat and reinstall Windows on their systems right out of the box will attest to the validity of it..
