Hard drives

I have a Dell Dimension 1100 that I had kinda retired. I had removed the hard drive from it and now want to put it back on line.

I have set the hd with no jumper, set it as a master, a slave and cable select. But when I boot up, it tells me there is no drive there. What is the proper way to set this up. I have a cable installed and am using the end connector for my hard drive. It is in the IDE 1 connector on the board. I have the cd-rom disconnected, but it is in IDE connector 2.

So what am I missing/doing wrong??

Have you seen this journal HERE, on how to add a second IDE drive.

The Dimension B110/1100 uses PATA hard drives.  All Drives should be set to cable Select.
