how to remove virus: JS.Exception.Exploit
Hello, a have a virus called "JS.Exception.Exploit , I keep my Internet Norton Security updated & window update.
When Norton did the automatic scan it found the infected virus , but cannot repair, so it kept it in quarantine, and then later I deleted it. Will that being done does the virus be completely gone?, and how do I check my computer registry to see if is hiding there?

You can use this link to do further checking if you would like, but I’m inclined to agree with Steve that Norton did what it was supposed to do and caught the bug before it got set up to do any harm.

If, after deleting the temporary internet files, a full system scan did not find the virus, then it you have gotten rid of the virus and have nothing to worry about. There is no need to do a System Restore.

I'm sorry, but I don't really understand what you are saying. Could you please try to be a bit more clear on exactly what is happening. You say your computer "runs good", but the "windows welcome screen doesnt come" - what does that mean? Can you or can't you get into Windows?

Im sayin that I could get to windows but the blue windows xp welcome screen doesnt come. It goes to windows by this box called log on to windows and has user name and password options so I could go to windows. After I got the virus its been doing that.

Alright, perhaps it's time to do a System Restore back to a date before you got the virus. See if you can boot into Safe Mode and do a System Restore. Instructions for booting into Safe Mode can be found at:

I noticed you asked if you should do a restore,,,,,,If you have windows me,,,,you should go to the Norton site and do an online activeX scan.Your Norton software can not scan files in the windows me "restore utility". The online scan does.
If you do have windows Me,,, you will then be sure it wasnt saved to restore files.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,IF the virus
is found by the online scan,,,,,,,it will need to be mannually deleted in restored files. Restoring will not get rid of it.
