Inspiron 7459 volume controls?

Is there a way to control the volume on the Inspiron 24 7000 (7459) when my devices (tablet, phones, PS3) are connected through the HDMI In port?  It defaults to the loudest settings and I cannot control make it softer on my tablet or phone.  There doesn't seem to be any volume controls on the computer itself.  Only on the keyboard, and those do not work.  I have looked in the manuals and cannot find anything.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Apologies that you have not received a response. Did you ever resolve this? On the taskbar on the right, do you see a speaker icon or a Dell Audio icon? The keyboard volume needs the Dell OSD (On-Screen Display) Application installed.

Have not solved anything.  Aready tried everything you suggested.  The problem is, once you switch over to your HDMI source, the control which change the volume on the PC do not work.  I did some investigating and found on the Inspiron 2350, the Volume Up OSD button controls the volume for HDMI inputs.  This does not seem to be the case with my computer.  I think it is a design flaw on Dell's part.

On the taskbar on the right, do you see a speaker icon or a Dell Audio icon? Did you open it look for playback devices when the tablet or phone are connected?

Yes, I've looked at the playback devices.  It is not there

Is it possible to get some instruction on how to use the 3 hardware buttons on the Inspiron 7459 to control the volume of a device plugged into the HDMI on the back of the computer?

There are no instructions as it is not possible like it was on the previous model (Inspiron 23 7000).  Dell has never updated the OSD control software since the release of this PC.  In fact, my display brightness controls on the side of the screen have stopped working after the Windows 10 anniversary update.
