Is my E drive OK?
According to Dell Documents, my E-drive should support audio CD's as well as Cd re-write. However, only my D-drive will play audio CD's(as well as play DVD's), but not my E drive. Dell phone techs say this is normal, but I have doubts.
Eg: When I ran Dell Diagnostic diskette for another problem, it passed all tests til 'CD-ROM 2' failed, and I could not complete the tests.
Eg: My Config.sys file has the following entries:
REM[CD-ROM DRIVE]
REM DEVICE=C:\CDROM\ATAPI_CD.SYS........
REM DEVICE=C:\CDROM\HIT-DVD.SYS.........
So... is my E-drive configured correctly?

Windows doesn't need the Dos drivers in Config.sys to run a CD drive. "Rem" at the beginning of a line means that the line will be seen as a remark and not executed. These lines are put in as a reserve; if you ever needed to run the CD drive in a Dos session, you could simply remove the "rem" from these lines, as well as from the line in autoexec.bat that refers to MSCDEX.EXE. If you do load the Dos drivers, Windows will ignore them, so if you don't boot to Dos, you can too.
