JAMCAM 3.0

My Dell Dimension L933r was ordered with WIN ME and a JAMCAM 3.0 I have been unable to get the camera to download and keep getting a message asking me to ensure that the camera is connected to either the USB or Serial ports and is turned on. I have tried both USB ports and the Serial port with no luck - and yes, the camera is turned on.

I have inquired with JAMCAM, but have not received a reply. Having "done this" before with other peripheral problems, no doubt they will tell me to communciate with the computer maker!

Any suggestions regarding testing the USB & Serial ports? I have not experienced any problems or have had reasons to believe anything is wrong with my computer (less than a month old).

Thanx.

Your driver for your cam is not installed. Right click on My Computer, find the Device Manager, and see that your cam is listed with a little error symbol. Right click on it, view properties...it will say that *blah blah blah functional but not installed*. If you click reinstall driver and let windows search for your driver, it should find it ok and you'll be back in the money. L8tr and hope it works out.

For 179.99 you get an Olympus 2.0 megapixel cam...the Jam cam is like 100 bucks and it was terrible when I had it. Spend the extra 80 for a real cam.
