Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse

Hi - My Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse suddenly stopped scroling!  Everything else works but it will only scroll in Quicken.  The only think I changed recently was updating the firmware of my wireless router.  (DI-624).  Has anyone else encountered a similar problem with this mouse? Any advise?

Thanks Ron, I really appreciate your help.  I went to an earlier Restore point and reinstalled Setpoint.  But no luck.  As mentioned before it works in Quicken, and interestingly it works in the message folder (Inbox or Sent Items) of Outlook, but not in the reading pane!  Something is gone wrong somewhere, but I can't figure it out.

I have same mouse, but haven't seen that problem. If this just happened, try doing a System Restore to latest date available when you know the rodent worked correctly.
start>help&support
click "undo changes..."
Follow prompts and pick latest date when you know it worked. Personal files won't be affected, but any XP updates or other software originally installed after the date used for the restore will have to be reinstalled.

If that doesn't fix it, you may have to reinstall SetPoint software.

Open SetPoint and click Mouse settings button. Make sure the buttons and scroll wheel are set the way you want and then make sure "select programs" is set to All Programs.

I suppose it's possible when you uninstalled SetPoint it didn't remove the folder named c:\programs\logitech\setpoint\devices\pointingdevice which contains lots of subfolders with (corrupted?) XML files that control button and wheel functions. And when you reinstalled it, SetPoint saw that folder and didn't replace it with a clean copy.

If you still can't resolve the problem, suggest you post this on the logitech forum here: http://forums.logitech.com/

And if it still exists, read this thread on that forum about "UberOptions" which allow you to set buttons and wheel on MX1000 for many more options than SetPoint offers. I use UberOptions and they work great. If nothing else, UberOptions might help you create a file which has the options set the way you want.

Hey Ron, I have it working!  I am not exactly sure what the problem was, but I did reinstall Setpoint after deleting everything, so I am assuming some bad files.  Thanks for all your help!!
