Memory for Dell 4600

Question

Hi All,

I have a Dell 4600 computer and was looking to upgrade its memory. It currently has only 256MB. I found this link in fatwallet.com.

Is this good memory? WIll it work in my dell? This is PC3200 400MHz memory. My computer came with 2 128MB PC2700 333Mhx modules. Can I add 2 512MB PC3200 400Mhz modules to it? Do I have to add them in a particular order i.e does the higher memory go in slots 1 and 3? Are there any good deals out there? I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. SO is it OK for 2 slots to have 128MB PC2700 333Mhz memory and the other 2 slots to have 512MB PC3200 400Mhz memory? I will be buying from crucial.

Yes, but the PC3200 @ 400mhz will not be fully utilized if mixed with the slower ram.
