missing drivers driver
dell dimension e510 win xp sp2 (will be sp3 if i can fix this prob)
so after weeks of agita putting in a new hdd and installing a clean copy of win xp sp2, i try to go online and long story short: the device manager as big yellow question marks on:
ethernet controller
pci device
pci simple commuincations conrtoller
sim bus controller
i think that means there are missing drivers
the win xp disk does not have them and all the online sources say that they are mother board divers and it's the comp company that provides the.
please, where can i find them?
thank you in advance for your help
(ps: i just looked in my device manager on my old hdd (the one i am using now) because i thought i mis-wrote " sim bus controller" {bad handwriting... heh.} and found "intel(R) PRO/100VE Network Connection" in the network tab.)
is that the one i should install?

Check out if you installed the drivers in the proper order-- support.dell.com/.../driver_install_order
Missing the Desktop System Software and/or chipset driver which must both be installed first is usually the reason for drivers that are missing after a reinstall of XP--especially network drivers.

@speedstep:
is the order listed in your reply, the order i should install them?
eg:
1. Chipset Software Installation Utility
2. Intel-(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection
3. SIGMATEL-STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio
4. Intel-537E,v.9X,PCI,Modem
5. Conexant-D850 56K V.9X PCI DF Modem ULD
i have to double check... these are the missing drivers for the dimension e510?
now i will go offline, reboot in to new hdd and see if i gave the right info...
