Motherboard COM port disappeared
Recently, I needed the motherboard COM port on my Inspiron 620 64-bit, now running Windows 10. It didn't show up in Device Manager. I unmasked Hidden Ports, no joy. I haven't used this port in a long time, so it may have been gone for years, but...
Checking with Dell, I was shocked to learn that the Inspiron 620 has not been tested with Windows 10, even though mine is only 4 years old. I can only conclude that something in Windows 10 has broken the driver for this port.
What to do?

The Inspiron 620 DOES NOT HAVE a serial or parallel port. Never has.

Argh. I've been looking at the onboard video port, which I don't use, thinking something like "what else can it be?" Embarrassing!
Thanks for straightening me out.

You can always add USB to Serial.
