mouse not detected.
My mouse was uninstalled. I restarted my computer and plugged the mouse back in, but no new device was found. I went to Dell drivers website but could not find a driver for a mouse to download. Running Windows xp pro, on a Dimension 3000. I am using a mouse plugged into a different port at this time.
No Events found!

The PS2 mouse can be disabled in bios.
Its more likely though that the mouse is bad.
WIN98/ME/2000/XP/VISTA/7 would automatically have drivers for a PS2 Mouse.

The mouse is good. I uninstalled something. and now the port is inactive.
