nVidia driver update 175.19 ..... is it safe yet?

Have a XPS 730 H2C with dual 9800 gx2 video cards in quad sli mode....

The latest driver on Dell updates for my machine is 175.01 which I installed ....

The latest driver on nVidia web site is 175.19 (not a beta) ... why isn't Dell posting that one.

Are there compatability, stability issues with the newest nVidia driver .... have heard that from some posts.

Please let me know if I'm going to have trouble if I download the new driver INCLUDING if it messes up nVidia Control Panel, etc.

THANKS

The 177.83 with the Phyx driver as well is now out. But I would not download and install all the other stuff this link below has to offer.  For me it was just junk.  Uncheck all but the driver and see if you like it or not.  the other 175.19 driver was reinstalled on my system for a few weeks and seem to be OK if you just want to use that again.

Dell is never up to date and the best reason never to download from their site but go to the source of the driver at www.nvidia.com instead

Before DELL posts a new driver, they have a bunch of testing to do,

1. To see IF it fixes any problems

2. To see if it causes more problems etc etc.

Some drivers on Dells site are from a few years ago because they dont see enough or any improvement to bother with the new ones. But its more about Reliability and Compatability i think.

Yes some bum drivers still get through, but the same goes for M$ update drivers breaking things.
