optiplex 390 SFF adding NIC PCI-e x1 not recognized
optiplex 390 SFF adding NIC PCI-e x1 not recognized
bought a Rosewill rc-401-ex which fit in the slot, but does not work.
Can't get good answers from DELL support about the specs required for this mobo.
searching at DELL I found a reference to a requirement for PCI-e v2.
I'll get a new card, but want to be sure that I get one that works and doesn't cost $300
when a $20 card should work.
thanks, dan

Then use a USB NIC. Not sure why you insist on a pci-e card.

thanks for the suggestion. It is desired to have the fastest most robust setup possible. Not a home setup w/ a cable modem.
