Optiplex 740 keyboard failure. Cannot boot into OS?
I have an Optiplex 740 and after a recent bios update its been running fine, but from the last month it started showing keyboard failure message. Sometimes it booted into the OS with everything working fine, but for the last 2 weeks I cant boot into my OS?
Messages:
1. cpu fan o failure
2. keyboard failure
3. diskette drive 0 failure
Please help me out. I have put in some upgrades also like gpu & 4gb's of ram. So please help me save my money.
ps: I have already tried each method I can find to fix the problem like resetting bios, clearing password jumper but all in vain.
Hoping for a quick reply

Hi PCTHAKUR,
The diskette drive failure means you need to turn off the diskette drive controller in the BIOS. Are you able to access the BIOS during boot?

No, that's not the problem. The keyboard and mouse require very little power.
Do you see any of these diagnostics lights <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>?
