Ordering memory in India

I wanted to upgade my Inspiron 6400's RAM from 1 to 2 GB. So, i got to the Dell website, but there was no option for ordering memory online in India, but i saw one in the US section. So, is there no way to get the memory delivered to India?

RjWdn,

I believe, if your'e gonna order it online, it will be shipped in your address in the US. Then you need to have someone ship it to your address in India. Dell will not send it directly to India. It will not be possible.

So, i guess, It would be better if you are going to purchase a memory from a local computer shop there in your country and then install it. just make sure that the specs of the memory that your'e going to purchase is supported by your laptop and compatible with your computer..

check this one out:

200 pin,SDRAM-DDR2, 667 MHz, 128 x 64..:smileywink:

Thanks, that was pretty much all i wanted to know. I ve heard that Dell has a retail outlet in New Delhi. Wont it be better if i got it from there? Right now, I am not even sure if they sell it at the store.... You know anything about it?

Unfortunately, Iv'e never been in New Delhi, but if there's a retail outlet, then that's something to look for.

As ive said earlier, you can get it from any local computer shop/computer store.

The only difference is, if your'e going to buy it directly from Dell, you will have a lifetime warranty for the memory modules.

Thanks

Just one last thing. Can i push my Inspiron 6400 to work sound with 4 GB RAM? Only if it wont damage any other hardware.... The only con that i came across when i googled it was that it would recognize only 3.25 gb RAM but thats ok with me...
