Precision T3600 Memory RDIMM or DIMM
I am looking to upgrade the memory on a T3600. When you configure the T3600 through the Dell web site there is a power option of 425W Base and another of 635W Base. I chose the 425W. Both options allow all memory configurations up to 1600MHz DDR3 ECC RDIMM .
If I go to the Crucial Memory site http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/ListParts.aspx?model=Precision%20Workstation%20T3600 it says
"The 425W Power Supply, 90 Percent Efficiency is not compatible with DDR3 RDIMM Memory. The power supply will need to be upgraded if DDR3 RDIMM memory is needed."
Is this correct? It seems to contradict what Dell offer.
I phoned crucial. The man I spoke to was very nice but only offered advice that is on the web site.

harrysmith0,
The Dell parts page does not have this limitation. I think Crucial is incorrect. Your best bet is to purchase the memory from Dell Spare parts (0844 444 5818). Below are the Dell part numbers -
D65JJ 4GB DIMM, 1600MHz
RYK18 8GB DIMM, 1600MHz
JDF1M 16GB DIMM, 1600MHz
