Problems with Internet Explorer

The problem I am having is sometimes when I connect to the net IE 6 switches the moniter off and then back on again. I removed IE6 from the system including registry entries then reinslalled but the problem returned. This problem also effects Explorer, the only way to stop this from happening is to reset the machine as it could possibly damage the moniter.

Have contacted Dell, but as yet no reply.

I am using IE 6 on this Dimension 4300, under Windows ME and have not seen anything with IE 6 that I don't like, so far. I am going to upgrade our other boxes to IE6.

I would suspect something in the Power Management of Windows or your Monitor, that is Shutting down your monitor. When I did a "Clean" install of Windows ME, Microsoft seemed to have all of that turned on, by "default".

Try going to Start - Settings - Control Panel and then looking at the settings in the "Display" and "Power Options" applets. I turned off all of that stuff and some strange behavior went away in this box.
