replace or fix old computer
I have an XPS T800 which is now 6 yrs old. I have to replace the graphics card and CD player. I am wondering if this will hold me for awhile or what to expect next. Do motherboards and CPU's wear out? How about fans? Should I do a prophylactic replacement there? The hard-disk occasionally makes more noise on reboot, but not bad and it doesn't last long.
It is serving my modest needs for now except for wanting a CD-DVD RW capability.
Thank for you advice.
